Currently navigating a long-distance relationship and struggling with the distance more than I expected.

Any couples here who've made it work long-term? How do you keep intimacy and trust alive across the miles? What strategies actually helped?
Regular video calls at a scheduled time rather than trying to catch each other spontaneously. Having a reliable slot each day made it feel more like being in the same timezone mentally.
Having a clear end date — knowing it was temporary and not indefinite — was what made it survivable. LDR without a plan to close the distance is extremely hard. Make a timeline together early.
We watched shows together using sync apps, ordered each other food delivery for surprise dates, sent physical letters and small gifts. The effort of making ordinary things feel shared is what sustains it.
We did long distance for 14 months and it genuinely made our relationship stronger because we had to communicate everything rather than relying on proximity. Still — would not choose it if avoidable.
